How is my steps count calculated?

There are several ways to track your daily steps on our app. You can use:

  • A third-party app: installed on your smartphone, such as Google Fit, Fitbit, ...

  • A connected watch or fitness band, which is linked to an app downloaded on your smartphone, such as Garmin, Polar, Coros, Samsung Health, ...

  • Your smartphone’s pedometer connected directly to our app (the Daily Steps tracking option in your account settings), via Apple Health or the Android pedometer.

💡 United Heroes Tip
We recommend using only one of the three methods below to track your steps to avoid multiple daily step activities being recorded on the same day, which could conflict with one another.

  • Whether you have an iPhone or an Android, you can use a third-party app to track your steps:
    • Apps such as Google Fit, Fitbit, ... are compatible with both iPhones and Android phones. They use your smartphone's pedometer to count steps, then sync with our app.

    • Devices like Garmin, Coros, Polar, etc. will transmit step data recorded by your connected watch or fitness band.

    • In these cases, United Heroes only uses data provided by that third-party app. Some apps update data throughout the day, while others send it at the end of the day.

  • If you have an iPhone:
    • You can track your steps via the Apple Health app > See how to connect Apple Health
    • Your phone measures your movements > sends them to Apple Health > which converts them into steps, and then sends the data to our app.
  • If you have an Android phone:
    • You can enable the Track your daily steps option in your account settings.
    • In this case, your smartphone measures your movements and sends them directly to our system to convert them into steps, which we then display on your Dashboard.
    • On Android, we recommend using Google Fit or Samsung Health.
