How is my steps count calculated?

There are several ways to track your steps on our app. You can use a third-party app (on your smartphone or with a connected watch/fitness tracker), or the pedometer on your smartphone.

💡 The United Heroes Tip
We suggest using only one of the three methods above to measure your steps to avoid multiple step activities on the same day, which could conflict with each other.

  • Whether you have an iPhone or Android, you can use a third-party app to track your steps:
    • Apps like Google Fit, Fitbit, ... are compatible with both iPhone and Android devices. They use your smartphone’s pedometer to count steps and sync with our app.
    • Devices like Garmin, Fitbit, and Polar will transmit the step data measured by your connected watch or fitness tracker.
    • In these cases, Sport Heroes relies only on the data provided by the third-party app. Some of these apps update data throughout the day, while others send it at the end of the day.
  • If you have an iPhone:
    • You can track your steps through the Apple Health app > See how to connect the Apple Health app
    • Your phone measures your movements, sends them to Apple Health, converts them into steps, and then sends them to our app.
  • If you have an Android phone:
    • You can enable the Track daily steps option in your account settings.
    • In this case, your smartphone measures your movements and transmits them directly to our system to be converted into steps. We then display the step count on your dashboard.
    • On Android, we recommend using Google Fit or Samsung Health.
